- 200 g ground pork
- 200 g raw shrimp (chopped)
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- Green onions (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves (smashed)
- 1-inch ginger slice
- 1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Shredded green onions (for serving)
- Bok choy or noodles (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, grated ginger, green onions, soy sauce, cooking wine, salt, and sesame oil. Mash until slightly smooth with small chunks of shrimp for texture.
- Wrap the Wontons: Place filling on each wonton wrapper and seal them tightly by brushing edges with water.
- Cook the Wontons: Boil water in a pot and cook wontons for about 4 minutes until they float; remove with a slotted spoon.
- Prepare Broth: Simmer chicken broth with garlic and ginger for 5-10 minutes; strain before serving.
- Assemble Soup: Add cooked noodles (optional) to bowls, top with wontons, ladle hot broth over everything, and garnish with shredded green onions.
