Description

The Perfect Tuna Melt is a comforting and satisfying sandwich that combines creamy tuna salad with gooey melted cheese, all nestled between crispy, buttery bread. Ingredients

  • 2 (5oz) cans of tuna, drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 stalk of celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 34 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 1/3 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Sliced bread
  • Softened butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine drained tuna with chopped onion, celery, parsley, minced garlic, mayonnaise, olive oil, and mozzarella cheese. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Spread butter on one side of a slice of bread and place it butter-side down in the skillet.
  4. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of tuna salad onto the bread in the skillet. Butter another slice of bread and place it on top of the tuna salad.
  5. Cook until golden brown on one side (about 3-4 minutes), then flip carefully with a spatula and cook the other side until golden brown.
