  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)

  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp lime juice (or lemon juice)
  • 1 green hot chili pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp parsley or cilantro (chopped)
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Slice onions thinly and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, cumin, salt, turmeric, water, lime juice, chili pepper, and parsley. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Fold in sliced onions until well coated.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides (about 2–4 minutes per side).
