  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • ½ cup honey
  • 23 tablespoons hot sauce (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the shrimp, then season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station with separate bowls for flour, buttermilk, and panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each shrimp first in flour, then dip in buttermilk, and finally roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan until hot (about 350°F).
  5. Fry shrimp in batches until golden brown (2–3 minutes per side) and drain on paper towels.
  6. Prepare the hot honey glaze by combining honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes (if using), and apple cider vinegar in a saucepan over low heat.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over the fried shrimp or toss to coat evenly before serving.
