Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef, then stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  4. Whisk cornstarch with water in a bowl to create a slurry; add to the beef mixture and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss in cooked noodles, coating them well in the sauce; let sit for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
