  • 106 grams light brown sugar
  • 113 ml buttermilk (room temperature)
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 125 grams confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease the doughnut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth; add buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and nutmeg.
  4. Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fill each cavity of the doughnut pan halfway with batter.
  6. Bake for 11 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
